Sage is a small herb with soft, silvery, grey-green leaves and a fresh, balsamic aroma with a herbaceous, savoury, astringent and slightly peppery flavour. Sage works well with meats such as sausage and lamb and is also very good in dressings, stuffings, and bean dishes and as a seasoning for potatoes and tomato sauces!
